ATC Shipping Containers Ltd is a London-based supplier built on a simple idea: buying or hiring a shipping container should be straightforward, transparently priced and properly delivered. We supply new and used shipping containers, refrigerated (reefer) units, high cube containers, flat pack containers, modified containers, portable site offices and guard booths throughout the UK and internationally.
From a 20ft unit for garden storage to a reefer for cold storage or a modified welfare unit for a construction site, our job is to specify the right container, price it honestly and get it onto your site safely.
Our Story
ATC Shipping Containers Ltd was incorporated on 5 April 2024 and is registered in England and Wales as an active private limited company under company number 15617678. Our registered office is at 124–128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, England.
The company was founded to address problems our team had seen repeatedly in the container market: vague grading descriptions, delivery costs that appear only at checkout, and units arriving in worse condition than the photographs suggested. We wanted a supplier that graded containers using recognised industry terminology, quoted delivery as part of the price, and told customers exactly what would arrive and what they would need to receive it.
What We Supply
- New and one-trip containers — recently manufactured units that have made a single loaded voyage, with clean paintwork, sound floors and serviceable door gear.
- Used containers — ex-shipping units graded honestly for condition, offering the best value for static storage.
- High cube containers — a foot taller internally, ideal for tall equipment, racking and insulated conversions.
- Refrigerated (reefer) containers — integral units for chilled and frozen storage, supplied working or as insulated non-operating boxes.
- Flat pack containers — bolt-together modular units that ship efficiently and assemble quickly on site.
- Modified containers — personnel doors, windows, roller shutters, insulation, lining, electrics, partitions and bespoke paint finishes.
- Portable site offices — insulated, lined and wired offices and welfare units for construction, events and industry.
- Guard booths and security huts — compact gatehouse units for site entrances, car parks and depots.

Quality and Container Standards
ISO 6346 marking
Every ISO container carries a unique identification code under the ISO 6346 standard: a four-letter owner prefix, a six-digit serial number, a check digit and size and type codes. We supply the container number for every unit we sell.
CSC safety approval plate
Containers used for international transport carry a CSC plate issued under the International Convention for Safe Containers, confirming approval and current inspection status. If your container will be shipped rather than used statically, a valid CSC plate is essential and we confirm it before dispatch.
Wind and watertight grading
A wind and watertight (WWT) container is structurally sound and sealed against the weather, suitable for static storage. It may show dents, surface rust and repainted patches, but the roof, walls, floor and door seals keep the contents dry.
Cargo-worthy grading
A cargo-worthy (CW) container meets a higher standard: certified fit to carry freight at sea, with sound corner castings, undamaged rails and a valid CSC plate. Shipping internationally requires a cargo-worthy unit rather than a storage-grade one.
Delivery Across the UK and Beyond
We deliver nationwide using HIAB (crane-equipped) lorries and tilt-bed trailers, choosing the vehicle to suit your access and ground conditions. Typical mainland UK lead times are 7–14 working days from cleared payment, and we also serve the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Isle of Wight.
